Closing Out the Show Season in Blackwell, Oklahoma

The cat show in Blackwell always carries a certain kind of energy—there’s a buzz you can feel the moment you walk in. As one of the final shows of the season, it naturally draws a strong crowd. Exhibitors come in with purpose, pushing hard for those last points needed to secure titles—whether that’s Grand, Supreme, or the next big milestone. It’s competitive, it’s exciting, and it’s a true reflection of how much dedication goes into this world.

This time around, I had four of my kitties entered. Due to another commitment, I was only able to show for one day instead of the full weekend—but even in that short window, they made it count.

Little GoGo had a wonderful showing, earning 2 out of 3 Best of Breed placements. She continues to grow into herself and settle into the show ring beautifully.

Millie also had a strong day, bringing home a solid final. She’s developing nicely and continues to hold her own among tough competition.

Kenny, making his debut, truly impressed me. For his very first show, he handled everything like a pro and came home with two finals. Watching a young cat step into the ring for the first time and perform like that is always something special.

And then there’s Wicklow—my superstar. He continues to exceed expectations, earning a final as Best Kitten out of all the Maine Coons in one ring. I couldn’t be more proud of him and the presence he brings every time he steps onto the judging table.

Overall, I’m incredibly proud of how all of these cats are developing—not just in their results, but in their confidence and consistency in the show environment. That’s what really matters long-term.

As this show season comes to a close, it’s exciting to look ahead. The next season is right around the corner, and if this weekend is any indication, the future looks very bright.
