Introducing the Jimmy Buffett Litter, a heartfelt homage to my brother, David.
David was my only sibling, and together, we found ourselves caring for our father, who was in hospice care at our family home. At 92 years old, he was battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer. As his caregivers, we faced immense exhaustion and emotional turmoil, all while trying to support our elderly mother during this challenging time (they were married for 69 blissful years).
Tragically, my brother struggled deeply with our father's decline and made the devastating choice to end his life just days before our father's passing.
In retrospect, David was grappling with depression and paranoid schizophrenia.
A dedicated fan of Jimmy Buffett, David inspired this new litter of kittens, each named after a Jimmy Buffett song. This tribute serves as a reminder to EMBRACE life, unwind a bit, and not to let life's pressures weigh you down.
While I may not align myself with the semi-colon movement for suicide awareness and mental health, I hope to honor David's memory through this endeavor.
Volcano was his favorite song...

These beautiful kittens are for you, David. I miss you.
